After our zoo trip we got into groups and wrote down all the words that came into our head when we thought about the zoo. We used tagxedo to put them into an animal shape. Here are the results.

After our buddy session last week with room 6 some of the children have created a presentation all by themselves.  Siosifa, Helen and LJ have all made their own presentations on our blend of the week pl.  Can you think of some more pl words?

Netbook Learning

Last week was our first week with our new netbooks.  It was a lot of fun using them and we have learnt a lot.  Here are some of the Room 10 children sharing what they have learned so far.

The Netbooks Have Arrived!

On Friday last week Mrs Kelly popped into our classroom with a mysterious black container.  At first we thought it might be filled with shoes or lollies but it was something even better - five new netbooks!  Today we started learning how to sign into google apps and it won't be long before we are google  experts.

Bees

The Giraffes reading group read an article about bees.  They have used puppet pals on the ipad to record some of the facts they learnt about bees.  Do you know any bee facts you could share with us? We would love to hear them. 

Our Many Coloured Day

This week are writing colour poems.  We have been using adjectives and similes to describe what our chosen colour would look, smell, taste, feel and sound like.  Everyone is writing great poems and  Demetrius, Helen and Katati have used fotobabble to record theirs.  Let us know what you think, can you tell us what your favourite colour is like?

Into the Deep

We are lucky to have a temporary pool at our school and this week we started our swimming lessons.  We have had lots of fun learning to blow bubbles underwater, float on our tummies and backs and kick with long legs.  After our swimming lesson on Tuesday we made our first video using the ipad.   Kira helped people record themselves and Sifa has edited the movie using imovie on the ipad.  Well done everyone!
