Thank You

The students from Room 10 are moving on to new classes and so is Miss Kirsty.  This blog will continue to be run by Miss Sharma, and Miss Kirsty will be in Room 4 with a new blog.  Please come and check out the work that is happening in Room 4 and you might see some familiar faces from Room 10.  Thanks for all the comments and support throughout 2013.

Film Festival 2013

Last term Room 10 worked together to make a movie for the Manaiakalani film festival.  We planned a theme for our movie, storyboarded it, wrote scripts and made costumes.   After all that we were ready to film and we had lots of fun doing it.  Take a look at our finished movie, we are really proud of ourselves.

A little while ago friendship and honesty needed to be promoted but how do we do this ? The students came up with a solution... Help is on the way!

Athletics Day

Last Wednesday we had Athletics.  It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun.  Take a look at the video below to see what we got up to.

Tuakana Teina Day with Room 8

Every term we get together with our buddy class for Tuakana Teina.  Our buddies from Room 8 are experts on the netbooks and they showed us how to do a lot of new things and we shared our favourite book with them.  Here are some photos from the day.  We'll post some of the work we did soon.

Ice-Cream Sundaes

On Monday we celebrated getting 100 marbles again.  We decided that ice-cream sundaes would be a great way to celebrate our achievement and it was!   Check out the video below to see photos our our ice cream sundae experience.  Thanks Falakiko for taking the photos.

We're Going to the Zoo

Last Thursday we were lucky enough to go to the zoo with Room 9.  We saw lots of different animals and some of us even fed the giraffe!  We are all busy writing about it at the moment so hopefully we'll have some more zoo postings soon.  For now you can check out our video to see what we got up to.

Tuakana-Teina Time with Room 6

This week we joined up with our buddy class to learn how to use google presentations.  We decided to create a presentation showing the words we had thought of for our blend of the week.  Our buddy from Room 6 showed us how to make the first slide, then they supported us as we had a go at doing it on our own.  They were great teachers and we can't wait to have a go on our own next week.

Here are two of the completed presentations.  More will be up soon.

Ready for Winter

We were lucky enough to get some warm, dry jackets from KidsCan on Thursday and it was perfect timing as the weather is starting to turn cold and wet.  We even got to go outside and test them in the rain and they were awesome.  Thanks KidsCan.

Celebrating 100 Marbles

On Thursday we had a party to celebrating getting 100 marbles in our jar.  We made pizza bread, fruit kebabs and fairy bread and some of the children brought in food to share as well.  Before we ate we got to play some party games and dance.  It was a great way to end the term and it was so nice to see everyone working as a team.  Keep up the amazing work Room 10.

Tri-Kids

Last week tri-kids came to teach us about triathlons   We spent two days training and then on Thursday we had the big event.  It was a lot of fun especially because instead of swimming we got to go on a water slide.  Take a look at the video to see what we got up to.

Meet Room 10
