Azuredream has written a story about a crazy bull in his backyard.  He has used the fotobabble on the ipad to publish it.

Yesterday Miss Kelly brought a lantern to school.  All the junior classes went outside to watch what would happen when Miss Kelly lit the lantern.  The lantern slowly filled up and rose into the sky, drifting away towards the old intermediate.  

But why did the lantern fly?  Here are some of the Room 10 children explaining what happened. 

Tuakana-Teina Time with Room 6

This week we joined up with our buddy class to learn how to use google presentations.  We decided to create a presentation showing the words we had thought of for our blend of the week.  Our buddy from Room 6 showed us how to make the first slide, then they supported us as we had a go at doing it on our own.  They were great teachers and we can't wait to have a go on our own next week.

Netbook Learning

Last week was our first week with our new netbooks.  It was a lot of fun using them and we have learnt a lot.  Here are some of the Room 10 children sharing what they have learned so far.

My Dog, by Azuredream

We have been writing descriptive stories about pets, either our own or pets we would like to have.  Azuredream has written a story about his rich dog.  He recorded his story using the ipad and has used imovie to edit it.   Listen to his story to find out why his dog is rich.

Into the Deep

We are lucky to have a temporary pool at our school and this week we started our swimming lessons.  We have had lots of fun learning to blow bubbles underwater, float on our tummies and backs and kick with long legs.  After our swimming lesson on Tuesday we made our first video using the ipad.   Kira helped people record themselves and Sifa has edited the movie using imovie on the ipad.  Well done everyone!
