Last week we were writing recounts about our party with a purpose.  We were focusing on starting our stories with a hook to get our readers interested.  Here is Demetrius' finished work.  He has used puppet pals to publish it.

Zoo Words

After our zoo trip we got into groups and wrote down all the words that came into our head when we thought about the zoo. We used tagxedo to put them into an animal shape. Here are the results.

How to Make Milo

We have been learning how to write instructions.  This week we made a milo and then wrote down instructions on how to do it.  We then used google presentations to publish our work.  Here is the finished work completed by the Kakariki writing group.

Netbook Learning

Last week was our first week with our new netbooks.  It was a lot of fun using them and we have learnt a lot.  Here are some of the Room 10 children sharing what they have learned so far.

Our First Google Doc Expert

Today we were learning how to create a new google doc.  The bears reading group picked it up quickly, so quickly that Miss Kirsty was able to sit back and relax while Demetrius showed the wolves how to create a new doc.  While Demetrius was teaching the wolves he recorded himself using with the screen recorder on the quick time player.  Great work Demetrius! 

Our Many Coloured Day

This week are writing colour poems.  We have been using adjectives and similes to describe what our chosen colour would look, smell, taste, feel and sound like.  Everyone is writing great poems and  Demetrius, Helen and Katati have used fotobabble to record theirs.  Let us know what you think, can you tell us what your favourite colour is like?
