Shoe, hu, su, se'evae

Today the lions reading group read the book Shoes for the King, by Dot Meharry.  It lead to a discussion on what the shoes are called in different languages.  Siale and Alone were able to teach us how to say slipper, jandel, gumboot and running shoes in Tongan. Here is a poster they have made to share with the class.

Jovan knew the Samoan word for shoes, Se'evae, but he was unsure of the names for different types of shoes.  If you know please leave us a comment and Jovan will be able to make his own poster.  Finally Calais was very interested in the Maori words for the different types of shoes.  He is working on his poster and we will post it soon.  Do you know how to say shoe in a different language?
